Team Founders
Team Nemesis was founded in August 2004 by Dmytro Konstantinov and Tim Leach, who have been long term training partners way before establishing the Team. At the time of Team Nemesis formation they have known each other for close to ten years and both been training in Mawashi Jitsu, a traditionalist martial art style built around ideas of effective reality based combat.
The system was designed with immeasurable input from both Dmytro and Tim but lacked in certain aspects of training, for example: ground work, conflict evasion, non-violent conflict resolution. Team Nemesis was formed to correct those short comings and to embrace under a single roof ideas related to public and personal safety, awareness, active and healthy lifestyle and reality based combat training.
To achieve those goals, team founders have spent an immeasurable amount of time on research and validation of their ideas. They keep a keen eye on all new developments and current trends in self protection community, staying up-to-date with current self-defence laws, dedicating themselves to constant self-improvement by any means at their disposal.
As a result, they have a wide range of skills in both striking and grappling arts. They both have years of experience of working within the security industry and have gained an accreditation of “instructor” within the Russian All-Around Fighting organisation as well as the British Combat Association under the world’s leading authority in the field of protection and security, Geoff Thompson.
Their combat skills are heavily complimented by the unparalleled understanding and knowledge of the subject they teach. They hold BTEC Advanced Award in Instruction of Self Protection and The Law, ITEC Award in Anatomy and Physiology, have advanced knowledge of conflict management, first aid and effects of drugs and alcohol on the human body.
However, they do realise the vastness of the subject and the enormity of the task in front of them. Self protection as a concept is a massive subject and the range of its implications is absolutely vast. It simply can not be fully embraced by a single person or two, especially when combined with its high dependency on individual circumstances and a multitude of option for the development of a possible encounter.
It was agreed early during the formation of Team Nemesis to keep its format open and non-ridged. Thus, allowing for the external input of outside influences and ideas. As the Team grew and developed, this philosophy and approach to training allowed Team Nemesis to attract attention of some of the most prominent coaches and sportsman in the South West of England and UK in general.
